The library is open from 8:00 a.m. until 2:40 p.m., Monday-Friday, unless otherwise notified.

Books may be checked out during the above hours.  The date due is stamped in the back of the book.  Overdue fines do apply if books are not returned by the return date.  Unpaid fines will be recorded on the student’s library log.  The student’s privilege of checking out books will be withheld until the fine is paid.

Students may checkout out Accelerated Reader (AR) books from the library and take AR exams in the library during designated times assigned by the media specialist.  The media center also has a complete listing of all books that are available for AR points and exams.  The Abbeville Public Library has a list of AR books for AMS students; however, students can not take AR test at the public library.  AR tests are only available at Abbeville Middle School.

It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, an equitable core of information sources are available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state."-The AVL Website
