ARMT and SAT10 Testing
AT10 and ARMT tests will be administered March 22nd-April 1st. It is very important for all students to be present during this time. The SAT10 and Alabama Reading and Mathematics Test (ARMT) are important because they measure academic achievement, attendance and participation rates in reading and math. The AMS faculty and staff are asking all parents to assist us with 100% student attendance and participation at this time.
Student performance is an important factor during standardized testing. Parents may help their child’s performance by remembering the following: 1. Making sure students get a good night of sleep during testing. 2. Getting up early enough to ensure a calm morning. 3. Making sure each student is at school and on time during each day of testing. 4. Making sure your child eats a good breakfast each morning during testing. Breakfast is available at school and begins promptly at 7:20 a.m. daily until 7:47 a.m. 5. Avoiding making dentist or other appointments that require school check in/out during testing. Tests are administered on varying schedules. 6. Encouraging your child to do his/her very best. Although state standardized tests may not used to determine whether or not a student passes to the next grade level, results are used by teachers to determine each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and used in planning for more individualized instruction.
The AMS faculty and staff thank you in advance for your cooperation during SAT10 and ARMT administration. Parents and guardians, please contact Miss Scharona O. Grimsley, Guidance Counselor, sgrimsley@henryschools.org or 585-2185 ext. 120, if you have any questions or concerns.
