STI Caller Enhances the Communication Between Schools and Parents
STICaller is a program that
works in conjunction with the student database to
promote parental involvement. It is an automated system that enables parents to
hear important information about their children, such as attendance records,
discipline infractions and grades.
The system will directly
read student database files and either call out and deliver
messages to parents or allow parents to call in and inquire about student
information. STICaller conducts calls to parents to inform them
that their child was absent or tardy, or if there was a disciplinary action.
The STICaller system can
answer inbound calls from parents encouraging
parental awareness by enabling them to dial into the school and listen to their
child’s attendance record, recent grades, or current homework assignment.
Parents and
students will also be able to call in and listen to important announcements from
their teachers in reference to important student information or get future
announcements from their teacher in the event of an absence or holiday.
Parents may stop by the
office to see Mrs. Barber, Mr. Calloway, or Miss Grimsley to receive their
child's pin. Pins will be mailed at the end of October to parents that
have not picked up their STICaller pin. STICaller instructions will, also,
be posted on the schools website. Instruction letters will include a phone
number to call, instructions for calling, and a pin number. With this
information, parents/guardians can call in and
listen to the options to access their child’s information. Students will be
given a voice
mailbox number from their teacher to call in and listen to important information
such as
homework or other special assignments.
