6th Grade Orientation
Monday, August 4, 2008
The Abbeville Middle School Faculty & Staff is very excited about the 2008-2009 School Term. We are looking forward to working with you and your child. It is most important that together we develop an appropriate program of studies for him/her.
A sixth grade orientation meeting for parent(s)/guardian(s) and students will be held on Monday, August 4th beginning promptly at 5:30 pm. The meeting will begin in the cafeteria. Various aspects of the school curriculum will be discussed. Abbeville Middle School students will be using Premier Planners this school term. The planners will be very beneficial to all students for various reasons such as recording assignments and daily responsibilities, setting goals, and providing tips for learning skills. Lockers are $2 and students must provide their own combination lock. Locker fees may be paid to your child’s homeroom teacher during orientation, as well as, provide their homeroom teacher with the combination for emergency purposes. Also, students are encouraged to bring their school supplies at this time and give them to their homeroom teacher. All sixth graders will need to stop back by the cafeteria before leaving to scan their finger into the Child Nutrition Identification Program.
Abbeville Middle School will be participating in Box Tops for Education for the 2008-2009 school term. We can all make a difference for Abbeville Middle School every time we shop for groceries! Just clip the Box Tops coupons from hundreds of your favorite products such as General Mills Cereal, Kleenex, Hefty and Ziploc products and bring them to school to your homeroom teacher. Each box top is worth 10 cent. This will be an easy method in raising funds to improve our campus and student rewards. Proceeds from the fundraiser are disbursed twice during the school year in December and April.
Again, we look forward to meeting with you on Monday, August 4th at 5:30pm promptly.
